1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 water
1 Tbsp. butter

Part 2
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 c. flour
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. nuts, chopped
2 tsp.baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine part 1 sugar, water in a saucepan; boil for 3 minutes; add butter, so its syrupy like. Now mix Part 2. Sift sugar, flour, baking powder and salt; add milk and stir until smooth. Fold in dates nuts. Now pour Part 1 in a greased baking dish. Pour batter on top of hot syrup. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Serve plain or with whipped cream. Makes 6 servings
