Small onion (diced)
2 T. olive oil
8 cups water
1 quart chicken stock
3 cups dry split peas
2 cups cubed ham
1 cup diced potatoes
1 cup diced carrots
1 tsp ground sage
3 tsp salt
1 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Bring to a boil: reduce heat. cover and simmer for 1 hour or until peas are tender.

Or you can put it in a crock pot for 8 hours.
