3 cups nuts (peanuts, whole almonds, pecan halves, walnuts, or a mixture of your favorite nuts.)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

In a 12" skillet over med. heat bring nuts sugar and water to a boil. Cook stirring occasionally until syrup mixture has caramelized, and the nuts are well coated. About 12-15 min. The bottom of the skillet should appear dry. Immediately spread coated nuts onto buttered large baking sheet. Bake in 300º oven for 10 min. stir. Bake another 10 min stir. Cool on rack. Store in an airtight container. makes 4 c. or about 1-1/4 lb.

You can make cinnamon sugared nuts by adding 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon with the sugar.
