1 cup crisco
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Cream crisco and sugars, and add the 2 eggs, beaten. Add 1 tsp vanilla. Add the sifted flour with soda and salt, then the 3 cups of oatmeal. Mix well and chill a few hours. Then roll in small balls and flatten with a glass dipped in water. Bake at 350º until slighlty brown, These are crisp cookies and will make a large batch.

Serving suggestion: Make a peanut butter frosting and frost two cookies together into a sandwich. These are like the Girl Scout cookies which used to be called Savannahs and are now Peanut Butter Sandwiches.
