1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oat flakes (oatmeal)
1/2 c. margarine, softened
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Lazy Daisy Frosting:
1/4 c. margarine, melted
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream or milk
1/3 c. chopped nutmeats
3/4 c. shredded or flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oats; cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter in separate bowl until creamy; gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Add oats mixture; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Pour batter into well greased and floured 9-inch square pan. Bake in preheated 350º oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Do not remove from pan.
Frosting: Combine all ingredients. Spread evenly over cake while still in pan. Broil until frosting is bubbly. Cake may be served warm or cold.
