1 1/2 lbs asparagus, trimmed and peeled if necessary
3 T unsalted butter
salt and freshly ground pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Tie the asparagus in a bundle if you have some kitchen string available. Cook the asparagus uncovered in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes or until tender. Drain the asparagus on a kitchen towel and remove the string. Season with butter, salt and pepper. Serve immediately. An alternative is to serve with a vinaigrette rather than the butter.
