About 3 in.of very hot oil (doughnut frying hot ),
5 C. flour,
5 tsp. baking powder,

Just enough water to make dry mix doughy.
( This will be a sticky dough )

Directions:
Directions:
Add all of the dry ingredients, and mix well.

Add the water. ( between 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 C. )

Let stand for 20 minutes.

Flatten small pinches of dough into flat saucer size pieces.

Fry in really hot grease for 2-3 minutes, turning half way through.

Let drain on paper towel. Can smash down while hot for easier storage.

Top with any or all : Chili, refried beans, onions, black olives, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, & salsa.

Can use leftovers for breakfast, simply brush them with melted butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar or honey. DELICIOUS!

This makes a very BIG batch! You can put dough in the freezer, but you have to do the flattening first. Let it defrost for about an hour before frying.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a very time consuming recipe, make sure you have a helper for the flattening process, or most of the dough will rise faster than you can flatten. You can probably cut the recipe in 1/2, but i've never tried it.
