Crostini Toasts
2 tsp. olive oil
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 c. very finely chopped fresh broccoli
1/4 tsp salt
a pinch of freshly ground pepper
1 med. size tomato, cored, seeded and finely chopped
1 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
a squirt of lemon juice
a pinch of sugar

Prepare crostini toasts: 16 slices of bread (about 3 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick.) Preheat oven to 350º. Arrange bread in a single layer on baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil. Bake for about 10 minutes or until crisp and lightly browned.

Heat olive oil in a med. nonstick skillet over med heat. Add onion; saute for 3 minutes. Add garlic; saute for 1 minute. Add broccoli, salt and pepper; saute for 2 minutes. Stir in tomato; cook for two minutes longer. Add lemon juice and sugar to taste. Remove from heat. Stir in fresh basil. Spread about 1 tbsp. topping over each toast. Serve warm.
