German chocolate cake mix (and ingredients need to make cake)
20-30 caramels
1/2 C. butter
1 Tbsp. milk
1 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare cake mix as directed on the box. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350º for 20 minutes.
Melt 20-30 caramels with the butter and milk over low heat (or you can microwave), until the caramels have melted. Mix the caramel mixture with a wire whip or spoon. Spread evenly over baked cake in the pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread the remaining cake batter over the top and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes at 350.
If desired, you can sprinkle more chocolate chips over the top.
Serve with dollops of Cool Whip topping.
