1 medium onion
1 clove garlic
1 No.2 can tomatoes and green chilies
1 pkg tortillas
salt and pepper
1 can Ortega chile peppers
2 c grated Monterey Jack
1 pt sour cream
2 T oil

Directions:
Directions:
Chop onion and garlic and fry in oil until clear. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 15 minutes. Remove seed from peppers and cut into 4 strips. Cut tortillas in 1/4 and dip in hot fat. Remove at once, drain well. Place layer of tortillas in baking dish, add sauce, peppers and cheese, ending with cheese. Make at least 2 layers of each. Place in hot oven for 45 minutes or until just bubbling. Before serving remove from oven and top with sour cream. Place until broiler until top is slightly brown. Must be piping hot when served.
