1/2 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Buttermilk
1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Cup Sugar
1 Tbsp. Karro Syrup
1/2 to 1 Tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter. Add and bring to boil sugar, buttermilk and Karro Syrup. Turn off heat and add soda and vanilla.

When my boys would come home from spending time at the Rowlands, they would always say, "How come you don't cook like Sister Rowland?" This is one of the recipes my boys insisted I get from Karen. P.S. This is the only syrup my kids will use.
