1 (8 oz.) can whole water chestnuts, drained
1/4 c. soy sauce
3 tbsp. sugar
6 slices bacon, cut in thirds

Directions:
Directions:
Let water chestnuts stand in soy sauce for about 30 minutes. (Large chestnuts may be cut in half or 3rds to make 18 chestnuts). Roll each in sugar, then wrap with strip of bacon; secure with a toothpick. Place in shallow baking pan or broiler pan. Bake at 400º about 20 minutes, or broil 4 to 5 inches from heat for 8 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot. Makes 18
