3 red bell peppers
1 green pepper
1 medium onion
1 large clove garlic, pressed
1 can tomato sauce
3/4 cup red wine
1 tsp sugar
fresh basil
pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Burn peppers on all sides, and remove burned skins. Saute onion in a little olive oil on medium-low heat. Cut the tops off the peppers and pour the juice in with the onions. Slice the peppers into strips, and add to the onion. Continue to cook for 20 minutes.Add garlic, and stir constantly for 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce, wine, sugar, and basil. Bring to a boil (a slow bubble.) Cook for 1 1/2 hours. For a thicker sauce (good for topping grilled Italian sausage sandwiches) leave off the lid. For a thinner sauce (good with grilled sausage over Pasta) leave the lid on.-
