Lasagna Recipe

1 cup chopped onion
2 Tbsp butter
3/4 lb ground beef
3/4 lb pork sausage
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp sugar
12 oz tomatoes, cut or put in blender and chopped
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 3/4 cup water
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
1 16 oz pkg lasagna noodles (uncooked)
1 pint cottage cheese
1 16 oz Mozzarella cheese

Saute onions in butter. Add beef, sausage, salt and pepper. Drain grease. Stir in sugar, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, seasonings. Heat to boil. Reduce heat, simmer 15 minutes. Grease 9 x 13 pan. Put some sauce in pan. Layer uncooked noodles, cottage cheese, cheese, sauce in three layers. Cover. Can sit in fridge for up to 3 days. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour.
