1 lb. french bread, unsliced
8 eggs
3 C. milk
4 T. sugar
3/4 t. salt
1 T. vanilla
2 T. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bread 1 inch thick. Line bottom of buttered 9x13 inch pan with bread. Mix remaining ingredients (except butter) and pour mixture over bread. Cover and let soak overnight in refrigerator or eight hours.
To Bake: Remove cover; dot with butter. Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve with butter and warm maple syrup.
