1 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs.
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

1 c. coconut
1 c. nuts
3/4 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 c milk

Mix oatmeal and water together let cool. Mix sugars, shortening , eggs and vanilla. Add the cooled oatmeal. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add to oatmeal mixture. Bake 1/2 hr at 350.

Mix and put on cake when it comes from the oven and broil until browned.
