1 cup milk
3 cups soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup shortening, melted
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup flour
1 teaspooon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup dark raisins
1/2 cup golden raisins

Prepare 4 cup mold by greasing well. In a mixing bowl pour milk over bread crumbs, add shortening and molasses. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into the mold and cover lightly with a greased cover or greased foil. Place mold on a rack in a Dutch oven. Pour boiling water to the level of the rack. Heat to boiling, cover and steam over low heat for 3 hrs. or until a toothpick inserted in center of pudding comes out clean. Check water level from time to time and add more when necessary. Unmold the pudding when done.
