Cake:

1 cup oatmeal
1 1/2 cup boiling water
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Topping:

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup coconut
9 tbsp. butter
1/2 cup milk or half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Add water to oatmeal in one bowl; let set till cool. Sift together dry; ingredients. Mix sugars with beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients to sugar-egg mixture, then add oatmeal which has cooled. Bake in square pan 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. When cool, top with topping.

Topping: Mix together the brown sugar, coconut, butter and milk. Broil until golden brown.
