Basic Dough:

2 cups shortening
3 cups sugar
4 eggs
¼ cup milk
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt


Spiced Dough:

¼ teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon


With Nuts:

½ cup walnuts
1 - 2 teaspoons coconut

Directions:

Divide into 3 portions, wrap and chill. Bake at 425° F, 8 minutes.
