Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos Recipe

Ingredients: 1 dozen fresh large jalapenos 1 pkg of cream cheese 1 pkg of bacon, cut in halves 1 tsp worcheshire sauce 1/2 tsp Tony Chacheres

Directions:Filll a 3 qt stock pot or dutch oven with water 3/4 full. Bring water to boil. Remove from heat. Add jalapenos to water and let sit until water has cooled slightly. Use slotted spoon to remove jalapenos from water. Drain on paper towels. Slice jalapenos in half, lengthwise. Remove seeds. Set aside.
In small bowl add cream cheese, worcheshire sauce and Tony's. Mix until smooth.
Fill each half of jalapeno with cream cheese. Wrap bacon around jalapeno and secure with toothpick.
Broil in oven until bacon is crisp or grill on pit.

Notes: Substitute any cheese for cream cheese, although the cream cheese filling is wonderful!
The reason to blanche the jalapenos in water is to help remove the heat from them. Under no circumstances take the jalapenos out of the water by hand, even if water is cooled. The jalapeno water WILL burn your skin.
I like more bacon taste so I use 1 whole slice of bacon to wrap each jalapeno.
