3 T butter
3 T flour
1 1/2 c milk
salt
dash pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In medium saucepan, melt butter. Slowly stir in flour until blended, add salt. Gradually add milk and stir constantly over low heat until mixture thickens. Be careful it doesn't burn on bottom. Add pepper to taste.

May add cheese to make basic cheese sauce.
