4 cups torn red leaf lettuce
3 strips bacon
3 tbsp. sugar
1 cup sliced strawberries
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine lettuce and strawberries. Set aside.
Cook bacon in medium skillet over medium heat until crisp. Drain, RESERVING 1 tablespoon drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon and set aside. Reduce heat to low. Add vinegar, sugar and pepper. Cook and stir one to two minutes until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils. Pour over lettuce and strawberries. Toss gently to combine. Arrange salad on four plates and sprinkle with bacon.
