Directions:Cook the onion and hamburger in large pot and drain the fat off. Add the remaining ingredients and fill pot with water to cover. Cook one hour and add salt if necessary. You can use frozen vegetables instead of canned and you can vary the vegetables and add some of personal taste..sometimes I add frozen chopped broccoli or chopped fresh zucchini. |

Notes: This soup is very good! If trying to lose weight, it is satisfying and can be kept in the refrigerator for a week without spoiling. I cook it and let it cool and refrigerate it. When I want to eat some, I scoop out a serving from the pot and just heat up the portion that will be eaten so the remaining vegetables do not get overcooked. For kids, add some fritos or cheese or sour cream or goldfish on top for added flavor. This is also popular with my weigh loss clients and each bowl of soup is only about a hundred calories and has two servings of vegetables and one serving of protein.
