1 c butter
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 c sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c flour
1/2 c chopped nuts (opt.)
1/2 tsp cinnamon and/or nutmeg (opt.)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly grease or spray a 9x13 pan (stoneware is the best).

In a medium sauce pan on low/med heat, melt the butter. Add the chocolate squares. Stir until melted. Remove from heat.

Add sugar. Stir well. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring until mixed well. Add vanilla. Add flour and stir well. Add nuts, and/or spices. Stir well.

Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until toothpick in center comes out clean.

Cool in pan before cutting.

I've actually been paid $$ for these brownies. I found the original recipe in a Food and Wine cookbook and have tweaked it. It's a great brownie recipe. Be creative with it... I even put caramel kisses on the top once it came out of the oven -- let them melt a bit and then spread around for a fun 'frosting'.
