3/4 C shortening or butter
1 C sugar
1/4 C Brer Rabbit Molasses
1 egg
2 t. baking soda
2 C sifted flour
1/2 t. cloves
1/2 t. ginger
1/2 t. salt
1 t. cinnamon
Extra sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Blend all
dry ingredients in small separate bowl. Add slowly to the
creamed mixture. Chill cookie dough. Roll dough into small balls
and then in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375º for 8 - 10 minutes. (Tops will crack a little.)
