Brownie layer:
1 C sugar
1 stick butter, melted
2 eggs
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 C nuts (optional)

Toppings:

1st layer:
1 C confectioners sugar
2 T softened butter
1 T milk

2nd layer:
1 sq melted unsweetened chocolate
1 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Brownie layer: mix 1 cup sugar and 2 eggs.
Melt a stick butter and 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate.
Combine the above.
Add 1/2 cup flour and mix well
Add 1/2 cup nuts (optional) and1/2 tsp vanilla
Bake at 350 degrees until done in a sprayed 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pan.

Topping: first layer...mix together 1 C confectioners sugar and 2 T softened butter ..add 1 T. milk...until spreadable.
Put on top of cooled brownies with spoon back.
Frosting: 2nd layer Melt 1 square unsweeted chocolate and 1 Tablespoon butter. mix well. Pour on top of 1st mixture when it is cooled, tilt pan to spead and put in fridge.

Hints: I sometimes use a bit more butter and choc for the topping.
Also, I find it melts better when I put in on defrost in the microwave...that way it doesn't over heat.
