1 1/2 C sifted flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 C sugar
1/4 C shortening
1 beaten egg
1/2 C milk
1 tsp vanilla


Topping
1/2 C brown sugar
2 Tbsp flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp margarine
Directions:

Mix together the dry ingredients cut in shortening, add egg, milk and vanilla. Pour into 9 x 9 pan sprinkle with topping. Bake 350º 25 to 30 min.

Marvel was Dad's cousin, she was married to Gomer Evans and they lived in Des Moines. We used to go to their house to visit in the late 60's and early 70's.
