1 head of cabbage (2-2 1/2 lb)
1 tsp salt
3 T butter
3 T flour
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1-1 1/2 cup grated cheese (American, Cheddar or Velveeta)
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
2 T melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Slice cabbage into saucepan. Add salt & water to cover. Boil uncovered until tender (7 min). Drain, saving water. Melt butter, blend in flour, and add evaporated milk and 3/4 cup of water from cabbage. Stir constantly until sauce boils and thickens. Add salt. Then blend in the cabbage, white sauce and cheese together and pour into casserole. Sprinkle with crumbs which have been blended with 2 T. of butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min.
