Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. (3 cubes) unsalted butter
2 tbsp. powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1 c. finely chopped almonds
3 1/2 c. flour
2 lbs. powdered sugar (approximately)
2 tbsp. brandy

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Mix in the powdered sugar and egg yolk, creaming well. Beat in almonds and brandy. Gradually add flour, adding just enough to make a soft dough that you can shape with your hands. Pinch off pieces of dough the size of a large walnut and roll between your hands. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake in a slow oven (275º) for 45 minutes or until very lightly browned.
Remove from oven and let cool in pan until lukewarm. Sift powdered sugar over butcher paper arranged in a shallow pan and carefully transfer cookies from baking sheet to sugared paper. Sift more powdered sugar over top, coating them at least 1/4 inch thick with sugar.
