16 cups sliced cucumber
6 cups thinly sliced onions
1/2 cup salt
ice cubes
5 cups sugar
5 cups cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp tumeric,
1 1/2 tsp celery seed,
1 1/2 tsp mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cucumber and onion in large pot or bowl. Layer with salt and cover with ice cubes. Let stand 1 and 1/2 hours. (can be soaked in salt water and put in refrigerator over night instead) Drain and rinse. Place remaining ingredients in kettle and bring to a boil. Add cucumber and onions and return to a boil. Pack into clean jars to within 1/4 inch of top. Adjust caps and process in boiling water bath for 20 minutes. Remove from canner and allow to cool. Jars will seal while processing or cooling. Store in cool dry place for up to 2 years.
