1 oz. household yeast cake
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. warm milk
1/2 c. melted butter
3 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix yeast, sugar, potatoes, and warm milk. Let stand 1/2 hour. Then add butter, eggs, salt, and flour. Knead, let rise until double in buld. Shape into clover-shaped rolls, using three small balls in a muffin tin. Raise again. Bake at 375º.

I remember these from when we were young, pans of them sitting on the table covered with a flour sack dish towel. Mom made them often when we were young. Now Laurie can carry on the tradition!
