2 cups flour
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk, unbeaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once and measure. Cream butter, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk and beat well. Add flour, a small amount at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add vanilla and almond extracts and blen. Divide dough into two parts. Shape in rolls 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter, rolling each in wax paper. Chill overnight or until firm enough to slice. Slice 1/8 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugars, pecans, cherries, etc. Bake at 400º for 4-5 minutes.
