1 quart of minced clams
1 c. flour
1 tsp. of each salt, pepper, and baking soda
1 egg
cracker meal or fine cracker crumbs

Mix the clams and egg together then add the flour, baking soda, salt, and pepper. Form into a clamcake with hands and cover the entire patty with cracker meal or cracker crumbs and cook in melted lard in frying pan until done turning and cooking on both sides.

Do not make the clam cake too thick as it will take too long to cook. Flatten it out well and cook at a lower temperature so as not to burn them.
