1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Stick Margarine or Butter
3 Cups Sugar
6 Eggs
1 Cup Buttermilk
3 Cups Flour
1/4 Teaspoon Soda
Vanilla or Lemon Extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Add eggs (one at a time). Add flavoring. Alternate buttermilk and dry ingredients.

Pour into bundt pan or loaf pans (2 large or 8 small) and bake at 350º for 55 minutes to 1 hour. (If you use small loaf pans, only cook for 40 minutes).
