1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
2 eggs
2 1/2 c flour
1 c water
2 tsp vanilla
salt
2 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Burnt sugar: place 1/2 c sugar in pan & brown. Add one half c water & simmer until like syrup. Cool & add to above mixture.
