2 lbs beef stew meat
3-4 potatoes
3-4 carrots
2 ribs celery
3 small onions
1 28-oz can tomatoes
1/4 c. water
5 T. minute tapioca
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. brown sugar
1 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 t. ground allspice
1/4 t. dried marjoram
1/4 t. dried thyme
1 bay leaf
1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º or use slow cooker. Cut meat into bite-size pieces. Peel and cut the potatoes into pieces a bit larger than the meat. Clean the carrots, celery, and onions, and cut all into 1-inch pieces. In a large heavy roasting pan, or a ceramic slow-cooker pot, combine all the ingredients except the parsley. Bake, covered, for 5 hours without stirring. Add parsley just before serving.
