1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
10 T. evaporated milk
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts, opt.

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the caramels and evaporated milk together over low heat. Meanwhile, mix together the flour, oatmeal brown sugar, salt, soda, and butter. Pat 1/2 to 3/4 of mixture into 9x13 pan. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Add chocolate chips and nuts to top. Drizzle caramel mixture on top. Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top; return to oven and bake 12 more minutes.

I've often used sweetened condensed milk when I don't have evaporated and I usually don't measure it - just dump in about half the can. Also, I often make 1 1/2 times what the recipe says for the crumb mixture.
