"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

1/2 cup brown sugar.
1/2 cup margarine.
1/2 cup peanut butter, crunchy.
2 tsp vanilla.
1/2 tsp salt.
1/2 tsp baking soda.
1 large egg.
1cup flour.
1 cup rolled oats.
1 cup chocolate chips
For frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar.
1/3 crunchy peanut butter

Combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine, peanut butter, vanilla, salt, baking soda and egg; mix well.

Mix flour and rolled oats together and then combine with above mixture.

Press combination into greased 13 x 9 pan; bake 9 minutes in 350 degree oven.

While baking, mix frosting by combining powdered sugar, peanut butter and sufficient milk for spreading consistency.

Remove bars from oven and pour chocolate chips on while hot and let melt; when little cooler swirl melted chips around top of bars.
