12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1 cup flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 t cinnamon
1/8 t nutmeg
3 cups oats (uncooked)
1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. In a large bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add vanilla and egg. Combine flour with baking soda, salt, and spices; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats. Fold in choc chips and nuts. Drop on cookie sheet and bake 8-9 minutes for a chewy cookie, 10-11 for crisp cookie.
