2/3 C. Sugar
3 Egg Yolk
1/3 C. Butter
1 1/3 C. Flaked Coconut
2/3 C. Evaporated Milk
1 C. Pecans
1 t. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan combine sugar, milk, egg yolk, and butter. Cook and stir on medium heat until mixture comes to a boil stir for about 12 minutes. Remove from heat stir in coconut, vanilla and pecans beat until frosting is thick. Cool 15 minutes and spread on cake layers.

This is the frosting that was always put on Granny's famous German Chocolate Cake she always made this for us when we would come home for a visit and for the holidays.
