10 slices bread
3 c. milk
2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 - 1 c. raisins
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
butter at room temperature

Preheat oven to 350

Butter each slice of bread (one side only) and cut into quarters. Arrange slices on bottom of baking dish with buttered side facing up.

Sprinkle with raisins and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Add remaining bread squares and 1 tsp. cinnamon.

Scald milk and remove from heat. Add sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved.

Beat eggs; gradually add hot milk to eggs, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and pour mixture over bread. Let mixture soak in. Set loaf pan into a pan of water.

Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes (until knife comes out clean)
