Ingredients:
2 c. of cleaned pinto beans
6 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
- Clean beans removing old, bad beans or even little rocks. Rinse several times. Cover with plenty of water and soak over night. Place beans and water in a large sauce pan and bring to a slight boil but turn down heat to where the water just barely boils. Cover and cook for about 6 hrs or when the beans are tender. It is important not to add salt at this time as it will slow down the cooking time. Do not use iodized salt, as it will darken the beans. Some people will add caster oil to the beans while they are cooking. I have used bacon drippings, added while cooking to give some flavor. You need to check to see if extra water is needed during the cooking.
