1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons melted butter
later: melted bacon drippings

Directions:
Put flour in bowl, make well in center of flour and put in all other ingredients and mix with hands. If too sticky, add flour. Knead it, stretch it and knead some more. Let rest 20 minutes. Divide into balls about the size of small roll, cover, and let rest again for 20 minutes. Roll each ball into THIN circles. Spread with bacon drippings and stretch even more, then lay on clean towel or sheet and stretch even more. (enough so you could "read a newspaper" through it.) Lift towel by one end and let dough roll into one long piece. Cut these long pieces into 1 or 2 inch pieces. Put them in a kettle of nearly done stew for 45 minutes. Keep cover closed! No Peeking. Simmer only on low heat.
