1 1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla



1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
3 cups regular oatmeal
1 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup chocolate morsels (optional)
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º.

Cream butter and sugars together. Add egg and vanilla.
Cream until smooth.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Add slowly to
butter mixture until mixed well. Add oatmeal, mixing well.
Add any/all optional extras as desired.

Drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet by the teaspoon. Bake
at 375º for 8-9 minutes for chewy cookies; 10-11 minutes for
crisper cookies.
