3 c. milk
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 T. salt
9 c. flour
2 pkgs. yeast in 1/2 c. warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk and pour over butter, sugar and salt. Whisk well. Sift flour onto waxed paper. Whisk 3 c. flour into milk mixture and mix well. Finish adding the flour, 1 cup at a time, saving 1/2 c. for kneading surface.

Dump dough into floured surface. Cover your hands with flour and knead dough 5 minutes.

Butter a large bowl and put bread in the bowl. Pat dough with butter and cover with warm wet towel. Put in a warm spot out of drafts. Let rise till doubled in size. Punch down and dump onto floured surface. Cut into 4 sections. Cover 3 and proceed to roll one out. Cut in 3 strips. Braid. Place in buttered bread pan. Brush with melted butter. Let rise till doubled in size. Continue with remaining dough.

Bake at 350º till golden brown.
