8 oz lasagna noodles (ready to use, no boiling)
1/2 c chop onion, 1/2 c chop green pepper,
3 T margarine, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 6 oz chop mushrooms, 1/3 c chop pimentos, 1/3 c milk, 1/2 tsp crushed basil, 1-1/2 c cream style cottage cheese, 2 c diced cooked chicken, 2 c cheddar cheese shredded, 1/2 c Parmesan cheese.

Saute onion & gr pepper, stir in soup, mushrooms,
pimento, milk & basil. Use 9x15 Pyrex. First ladle small amount of sauce then layer noodles, sauce, cottage cheese, chicken & cheese 1 c of cheddar cheese, repeat layers w/ exception of last 2 cheeses. Bake 350º for 45 mins. Top w/ remaining 2 cheeses & bake 2 minutes longer.

This recipe came from one of my ' hall ' mates when I had Joe & Will back in 1983. (All of Women's Hospital was under Major construction at time.) Hallways were converted to labor areas, separated by make shift curtains. That's if you were lucky! About 4 weeks later she showed up on my doorstep w/ this great casserole. She thought I needed to take time for myself...It's definitely comfort food for me... ; > )
