1/2 c butter
1/2 c shortening
4 eggs
3 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 c milk
1 tsp lemon juice
2 1/4 c mashed banana's
1 c walnuts
2 1/2 c sugar
2 tsp vanilla

Generously butter 2 loaf pans, preheat oven 350
In large bow beat butter, shortening,sugar,eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Stir lemon juice into milk which will curdle it. Add sifted ingredients alternately with milk to butter mixture, blending well. Stir in bananas and nuts. Pour into loaf pans. Bake 1 hour and 10 mins or until toothpick comes out clean and bread beginning to pull away from sides of pans.
