1 c. heavy cream
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
dash salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 T. butter
3/4 c. corn syrup
1/2 chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the heavy cream and milk together. Take 3/4 c. cream mixture, sugars, corn syrup and salt and mix together. Bring to a boil over med. heat stirring to dissolve the sugars Set candy thermometer in the pan and cook to 234º (soft ball stage) stirring occasionally.

Slowly stir in the remaining 3/4 c. cream mixture so the syrup mixture continues to boil. Cook, stirring occasionally to 244º (firm ball stage). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, nuts,and butter. Pour into a buttered loaf pan. Cool at room temperature.

Turn out onto a board and with a knife dipped in hot water, cut into squares. Store in a cool dry place.
