2/3 C butter or shortening
1 box (2 1/4 C) brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 C all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 - 7 oz.pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 C chopped pecans

Directions:

Melt butter or shortening in a double boiler.
Beat in sugar and allow to cool.
When cool, add eggs one at a time beating until each egg is incorporated. Mix in vanilla.
Add flour, baking powder and salt, mix throughly.
Stir in chocolate and pecans. Pour into a 9" x 13" greased pan.
Bake @ 350 degrees for 40 min Cool and cut into squares.
