1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening (Grandma writes that she uses lard)
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups finely cut rhubarb
Topping:
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup cocoanut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Mix all together and place in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle topping mix over cake and bake at 350º for 45 minutes
